The Ascot Festival is one of the biggest race meetings in the flat race calender. The feature race today Saturday 27th September 2008 is the Queen Elizabeth II Stake. It is the top mile race in Europe. Other races on the card include Group One Meon Valley Stud Fillies’ Mile and the Group Two Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes, for the top two year old milers.
This meeting is famous for that day in 1996 when Frankie Dettori won all 7 races and made the bookies cry.
