Champions League Week 4 Preview
It is bonfire night and you can expect some fireworks in tonight’s champions league games as we enter the half way stage with round 4 of games. Lots of big games over the next 2 days as teams will be looking to etch closer to securing their place in the knock out stages, or some teams wanting to keep their european season alive by gaining a place in the Europa league.
The biggest match on Tuesday and personally over the 2 nights is the clash of the giants of Europe, Italtalies the Vecchia Signora “he Old Lady” Juventus take on Los Blancos (The Whites) Real Madrid. Juve will be looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to real last time our in the CL. However since the loss at the Bernabeu, Juventus have been unbeaten managing 3 league wins in a row. SO their form is impressive. However Real have also being in great form hitting 11 goals in their 3 games since the last CL match. Juventus have not conceded a goal in the last 3 matches. The next encounter between the two power houses will be must see TV.
Man City (1/5) will be wanting to win at home to CSKA Moscow ( 16/1). City are in good condition scoring 7 goals v Norwich last time out. Moscow have won their last 2 games since the last CL game. Yaya toure suffered racial chants at CSKA and we think he will be motivated to put in a top performance we think a bet on him to score first at 15/2 with is worth a punt.
Also playing on Tuesday night include FC Copenhagen (5/2) v Galatasary (6/5), Olympiakos (11/8) v Benfica (11/5), PSG (1/8) v Anderlecht (25/1), Real Sociedad (11/5) v Man United (11/8) and Viktoria Plzen (20/1) v Bayern Munich (1/7).
Wednesday Night Matches
The big match on Wednesday night seeing Barcelona (2/9 ) take on AC Milan ( 14/1). Barca have yet to lose a game this season winning 13 of 17. one of their draws this season though was at the San Siro in the last game in the CL. The form of AC Milan has been patchy with just one point in their last 3 games and they lost at home to Fiorentina. It comes as no surprise that Barcelona go into the game as hot favourite but the result is far from a formality. Dortmund have been in great form in their domestic bundesliga too with 14 from 17 with a goal average of 2.7. They scored 6 at the weekend against Stuttgart. Arsenal also beat liverpool who were on a great run. This is a tough task for Arsenal. Both sides will not want to lose especially as the other group member Napoli ( 4/11) look unlikely to lose at Marseille (9/1), putting them in pole position in the group going into the final 2 matches.
