Chris Hughton was dismissed as manager of Newcastle United this afternoon with former West Ham boss Alan Pardew chalked up as the early favourite.
The uncertainty over the future of manager Chris Hughton has come to an end – and many observers will feel that former Republic of Ireland international defender has been very harshly treated by Newcastle, who sacked him this afternoon.
The Toon lost 3-1 at West Brom on Saturday and are currently 11th in the Premier League table in their first season back in the top flight after Hughton guided them to the Championship title last term.
There have been rumours for some time that Hughton’s position was under threat, and Newcastle have now brought the whispers to an end with today’s announcement.
