ATP World Tour Final Preview O2 Arena

Andy Murray, runner up of group A will take on Roger Federer in todays ATP World Tour Finals semi final after beating Tsonga Friday. (From 14:00)

The Scot won two of his three Round robin matches in the series only loosing to world number one Djokovic. Similarly Federer also won two out of his three Round Robin matches. With this semi final, on paper, proving to be a well matched battle between two top professionals.

Overall the Swiss holds the upper hand having won three of his last five matches against Murray this year including Wimbledon.

Yet Murray will be hoping to be able to repeat his semi final performance in the Shanghai ATP Masters and his London 2012 Olympic Gold Medal victory against Federer from earlier this year.

Djokovic, the winner of group A after seeing off Tomas Berdych will now face the runner up of group B Juan Martin Del Potro in the other semi final which will also take place this afternoon.

The Argentine will be going into his match against Djokovic brimming with confidence after beating 6-time champion Roger Federer for a second time in a row.

However the last two matches between the two Del Potro has been on the wrong side of the result. With Djokovic winning in straight sets of the quarter finals of the Western & Southern Masters and the semi final of the US Open this year.

Today’s semis see the top three in the world and the 2009 US Open champion battle it out in the O2 arena in London to reach to final.
