The 2010 European Tour is renowned for providing spectators with some of the best golf viewing in the whole world, with numerous big golfing names competing throughout the year in an array of tournaments which includes some of the best loved courses. The ‘Race to Dubai’ is the final event on The European Tour which finishes in November.
With the Barclays Scottish Open getting underway in July, followed by the 139th Open Championship in the same month, August will again be an extremely competitive month for these professionals. One of the four major tournaments is held in August, the PGA Championship and the tournaments current champion, Yang Yong-eun will be looking to do exactly the same again this year! Another of the big golf tournaments as part of this tour that takes place in August is the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles, bringing golf back to its ‘home’. The current champion is the Swede Peter Hedblom, where the 2009 championship was his third win on The European Tour.
Predicting who will win each of these tournaments is a difficult job considering in the last five years, the Johnnie Walker Championship has been won by five different players from different countries! As for the PGA Championship, it is just the last two years that it has been won by different players. There are a number of our home country players ranked very highly for the Race to Dubai so it will be a close call as to who comes out on top!
