Pontefract Course Details

The race track at Pontefract is left handed with the the last bend being a sharp one onto the home straight. The course is uphil for the final 3 furlongs which gives horses a tough test. The track is a full 3 mile circuit. The track is the longest contimous flat circuit in ENgland , it is no surprise that it hosts one of the longest races at 2 miles and 5 furlongs

Biggest Races at Leicester

The top Race of the year is the King Richard III Stakes this is an Listed flat horse race open to thoroughbreds aged four years or older. The race is run over 7 furlongs and 9 yards (1,416 metres) and it takes place in April. The race is sponsored by Totesport and the prize money is £45,000. The winner in 2013 was Producer with Richard Hughes on board.

Leicester Course Details

The race course is an right handed oval shape nearly 2 miles. In 2009 the open ditch on the fourth last was moved to the home straight. So now the home straight has four fences with the third last hosting the open ditch. Flat races are on the straight course up to one mile. Course is said to be a sound racing surface. The course is more of a chase meeting course with 10 fences. two ditches and a weter jump.

Beverley Track Details

Beverley racecourse is a right hander flat racing circuit. It is 1 mile 3 furlongs long. The course is mainly a flat track but there is an uphill finish and the turns are challenge as they are tight.

Beverley Draw Bias

Beverley is known for the draw bias. The bias is due to the sharp right hand bend and the ground runs to the left, this makes a low draw near the inside rail mich more benificil than a high draw on the the wide outside which has the ground sloping from right to left.
